Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter shared one of the greatest TV friendships on "Boy Meets World" in the '90s, but best friends Riley Matthews and Maya Hart on "Girl Meets World" may have the boys beat thanks to a telepathic connection.

Rider Strong, who played Shawn for seven seasons on the original ABC series, will make his first appearance on the Disney Channel spin-off in the upcoming holiday episode. Upon his arrival to best friends Cory and Topanga's home, he will quickly be challenged by Maya, played by Sabrina Carpenter, that she and Riley (Rowan Blanchard) are "the best friends on this planet."

"Well that's cute, 'cause Cory and I are the best friends in all of existence," Shawn tells her. "Which includes your little crummy planet."

He and Cory prove their eternal bond by finishing each other's... SENTENCES! But Riley and Maya have one more trick up their sleeves: They can read each other's minds.

The holiday episode will also see "Boy Meets World" alumni Betsy Randle and William Russ return as Cory's parents. Uriah Shelton will play Cory's littler brother Josh, who was born in the sixth season of "Boy Meets World."

Riley may want to watch her best friend around her Uncle Josh. Maya has a strong crush on the cute young man, and Riley does not like the idea of her best friend being her aunt.

The "Girl Meets World" episode entitled "Girl Meets Home for the Holidays" will premiere on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. on Disney Channel.
