Royal Tailor Earns Grammy Nomination for ‘Best Contemporary Christian Music Album’ – The Group’s Second Consecutive Nomination

When the smoke cleared after nominations for the 57th annual Grammy Awards were announced earlier this week, Royal Tailor had received one for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album." It was their second consecutive Grammy nomination in that category.

The nomination is for their sophomore self-titled Essential Records album, "Royal Tailor." The group's previous one was for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album" for their debut 2011 release, "Black & White," which produced the No. 1 radio single "Make A Move."

The band, which consists of Tauren Wells (lead vocals), DJ Cox (guitar, vocals), Blake Hubbard (bass guitar) and Jarrod Ingram (drums), was named by Google as one of the "50 Under 30 Most Influential POP artists."

"We're blown away and truly honored to be named alongside a talented group of artists for such a prestigious award!," says Wells. "We love the NARAS community and the artists it represents. We are grateful to have their support."

For "Royal Tailor," the band teamed up with a mix of collaborators that included Chris Stevens (Mandisa, Colton Dixon), Aaron Lindsey (Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp), Chuck Butler (Britt Nicole, Brandon Heath), hit songwriter Jason Ingram, Cole Walowac of Capital Kings, and musical director Adam Blackstone (Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Rihanna).

"Royal Tailor" landed another No. 1 hit in the United States and Australia this year. The video for the single, "Ready Set Go," premiered on Ryanseacrest.com as well as 34 additional placements including VH1, MTV.com, MTV2, Footlocker, Yahoo Music, Kohl's, Gold's Gym, Westin Hotels, Coca Cola, and more.

The group has been on the road in support of "Royal Tailor," performing more than 124 shows, and appearing on the 22-city arena tour "The Rock & Worship Roadshow" alongside Third Day and Skillet. The band headlined its first club run this past spring, co-headlined the Air 1 Tour with Jamie Grace, and on festival slots in Sweden & Norway this summer. Additionally, Royal Tailor was a featured artist on the Tenth Avenue North "Cathedrals" tour earlier this fall.

Royal Tailor also launched a YouTube partnership with the "Dude Perfect" channel, in which videos featuring Royal Tailor songs have already racked up more than 24 million views. The band's anti-bullying campaign has hit eight schools across the country, reaching more than 10,000 students nationwide.

Royal Tailor has toured with Casting Crowns on their "Come To the Well" tour, Britt Nicole on her "You're Worth More Than Gold" tour with Group 1 Crew, Pollstar's 44-city "Winter Jam" arena tour (with more than 550,000 in attendance), and Newsong's "Swallow The Ocean" tour.
