California firefighters spent two hours freeing a woman who got stuck inside a chimney at her ex-boyfriend's house on Saturday.

The unnamed 35-year-old woman first tried entering the Woodcrest home through the front door at around 5 a.m. that morning, the homeowner, Tony Hernandez, told CBS Los Angeles.

But when the woman, who is the mother of Hernandez's three children, realized the door was locked, she made her way to the roof and tried shimmying down the chimney.

She didn't make it all the way down and got stuck inside the 12-by-12-inch chimney, CBS LA reported.

Hernandez said her cries for help woke him up.

"'She said, I'm trapped in the chimney,'" he told the station. "So I tried to get her out but it was too hard."

Riverside County Firefighters arrived at the Rancho Viejo Drive home and busted through the fireplace to rescue the trapped woman. She was freed two hours later and treated at a hospital for minor to moderate injuries.

Hernandez told the station his ex-girlfriend does not live with him and is not permitted to be around their children.

Saturday's incident comes after another California woman got stuck in the chimney of a man she briefly dated, according to The Huffington Post. In October, firefighters used jackhammers and soap for lubrication to free her from the chimney and police arrested her for illegally entering a residence.
