Two Saudi Arabian border guards were killed and three others were injured on the Saudi Arabian - Iraqi border as a result of a shooting and suicide bomber, the Saudi Interior Ministry said, according to Al Jazeera.

According to a brief statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency on Monday, a border patrol near Arar was attacked by gunmen. When officers responded and captured one of the attackers, the attacker detonated an explosives belt, according to Al Jazeera.

AFP via Yahoo pointed out that the areas in Iraq that border the Arabian kingdom have been over run by Islamic State jihadists.
