Lena Dunham will not be walking down the aisle just yet.

The 28-year-old star of "Girls" and her boyfriend, Jack Antonoff, are not engaged. Dunham sparked engagement rumors after she had posted a photo of herself on Instagram last week, wearing a suspicious gold band on her left ring finger, People Magazine reported.

While attending "Girls" season 4 premiere party in New York City on Monday, Dunham's friend and co-executive producer of "Girls," Jenni Konner, told People Magazine that the ring on Dunham's finger is a friendship ring.

"[Lena and I] have friendship rings," Konner told reporters. "They're a stack of three. We both wear them on that finger for some reason - that's the finger they fit on - and those are our friendship rings."

Konner jokingly added, "When they announced that she was wearing an engagement ring, I was like, 'Yeah, to me!'"

"Yeah, we're engaged to continue to work together for the rest of my life," Dunham said.

Dunham admitted to being confused as to why people are interested in her relationship with her boyfriend.

"It's funny, I have a ring that my boyfriend gave me that I wear on my right hand, and like, clearly nobody gives a s**t about - it's like a diamond!" she said, "And everybody was like, 'Let's ignore that diamond and focus on this stack of three rings.' I definitely had a feeling, like, 'Slow news day, dudes?'"

Despite being madly in love with her boyfriend, in an interview with Howard Stern, Dunham revealed that she would not marry until same-sex marriage is legalized in every state in America. Currently, 19 states in North America have legalized gay marriage.

"We're not against marriage but I wanna wait until it's something - my sister's gay and it just doesn't feel good to me to do something she can't do," she said. "She can do it in some places but not all places."
