A Metra train rammed into an automobile on Milwakuee District's West Line injuring one woman, Tuesday.

The car went under the track's crossing gates as the train was approaching, according to The Chicago Tribune. The vehicle made its final resting place on a metal shed 20-feet away. "Witnesses said the car slid under the downed gates," Itasca Fire Chief James Burke said. "She tried to put it in reverse."

The driver was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Ill after firefighters exerted her out of her vehicle.

Officials did not know her condition, but she was conscious when she went into the ambulance The Tribune reported.

Train service stopped following the accident. Some operations were restored over an hour after the 7 a.m. crash, but had delays.
