Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role as Black Widow and reteam with Chris Evans in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."

"Captain America 3" directors Anthony and Joe Russo confirmed Johansson's return during an interview in Beijing on Thursday, according to ComicBookMovie.com. The movie will start filming in April for a 2016 release.

"We've been preparing for the movie since the last one debuted last year," Anthony said. "So, we've been working on it for a long time now."

Johansson will make her fifth appearance as Agent Natasha Romanov a.k.a. Black Widow in the new film. She debuted in "Iron Man 2" (2010) and then played the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent again in "The Avengers" (2012) and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (2014). She'll suit up again this summer in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The second "Captain America" sequel will pit Evans's character against Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. The film will also introduce Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Daniel Bruhl, whose role remains unidentified. Frank Grill and Sebastian Stan will return as Crossbones and The Winter Soldier, respectively.

Co-writer Stephen McFeely, who worked on the first two films, also said the fallout from Cap and Iron Man fighting will be "untidy," according to ComicBookMovie.com. A leaked scene from "Avengers: Age of Ultron" already shows the bubbling resentment between the two superheroes.

"Captain America: Civil War" will open in theaters on May 6, 2016.
