Just two days after the New York Yankees avoided arbitration with starter Ivan Nova, they did the same with another one of their starters. A bit south in Baltimore, the Orioles settled with a number of their players for the 2015 season.

Michael Pineda agreed to a one-year, $2.1 million deal, according to Mike Perchick of WAPT. Pineda was acquired from the Seattle Mariners prior to the 2012 season, but has only made 13 starts in three seasons with New York and all of them were in 2014. However, in those games he's 5-5 with a 1.89 ERA and 0.83 WHIP, which is certainly promising if he can stay healthy.

We noted on Tuesday that Nova agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million deal as well. They still must work to sign starter Nathan Eovaldi and reliever David Carpenter.

Additionally, it was reported on Friday that the team officially announced the signing of infielder Stephen Drew, after which they designated outfielder Eury Perez for assignment to make room on the roster.

In Baltimore, the Orioles' front office had a busy day settling contracts for the 2015 season with starter Chris Tillman ($4.315 million), first baseman Chris Davis ($12 million), catcher Matt Wieters ($8.3 million) and reliever Brian Matusz ($3.2 million), according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun. They still must agree to deals with first baseman/outfielder Steve Pearce, outfielder Alejandro De Aza, starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez, starting pitcher Bud Norris, infielder Ryan Flaherty and closer Zach Britton.

As we wait on the other Orioles to settle, here are the stats from the 2014 season of those who signed today:

Tillman: 13-6 with a 3.34 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 34 starts (207 1/3 innings)

Davis: .196/.300/.404 with 26 home runs and 72 RBIs in 127 games

Wieters (2013 stats since he missed nearly all of 2014): .235/.287/.417 with 22 home runs and 79 RBIs in 148 games.

Matsuz: 2-2 with a 3.48 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 53 strikeouts in 63 games (51 2/3 innings)

We're waiting for the Red Sox to announce any signings they might make before the arbitration hearings, and in the meantime you can view the activity of the Tampa Bay Rays here and the Toronto Blue Jays here.

UPDATE: The New York Yankees settled with starter Nathan Eovaldi on a one-year, $3.3 million deal, according to Perchick, who also reported the Boston Red Sox settled on a one-year, $12.5 million deal with starter Rick Porcello.
