Bruce Jenner’s Mother Approves Of Son's Rumored Sex Change

Bruce Jenner is expected to announce his transition to becoming a woman soon. His mother is 100 percent onboard with her son's life-changing decision.

"I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He's gifted," Esther Jenner told RadarOnline.com.

The 65-year-old reality star recently sat down with his 88-year-old mother to explain his transition and "had a very long, long, long talk about it," she said. The elder Jenner also confirmed that her son will document his experience in an upcoming reality TV show, which will air on E! later this year.

"Right now I am more proud of him for what he's allowing himself to do. I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect," said Esther, referring to her son finishing first in the decathalon at the 1976 Olympics.

Once he makes his highly-anticipated announcement, Bruce will sit down with former ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer for his first interview, according to People. There is no exact date for the interview, but it will come before his docuseries airs.

"It will air when he is ready to be open about his transition," a source told People. "But he's acting more and more confident and seems very happy."

The new reality show also won't premiere until the current season of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" ends.

Esther believes her son can help more people by speaking out about his own transition and experience so far.

His efforts will be worth it "if he can help other people with emotional problems," she told RadarOnline.com.
