Three Florida kids were arrested Thursday after police say they ran a child-porn ring through an Instagram account, the Sun Sentinel reported.

Pembroke Pines police would not say what prompted the 10-week investigation into the Instagram account run by a 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy. The account, with some 500 followers, asked users to upload naked and sexually explicit photos of minors to "expose" them, police told the newspaper.

Investigators also wouldn't say how many minors had their images posted on the account, which included their names and personal information.

"All I know is it's multiple," Pembroke Pines police spokesman Sergeant Drew Jacobs told the Sun Sentinel. The minors are from Broward County.

"This is an ongoing investigation," Jacobs said.

The two boys and girl suspects, whose names were not released, were arrested Thursday morning and are expected to be charged with electronic transmission of child pornography.

"The Pembroke Pines Police Department urges the community to pay close attention to their children's online activity," Sergeant Angela Goodwin said, according to the newspaper.

"Anyone that transmits, downloads or possesses images and/or videos which depict the exploitation of children/juveniles are subject to state and federal criminal charges."
