The United States faces Guatemala in its last international friendly before beginning its quest for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, LatinosPost.com reports. The biggest addition to the USA is the return of Landon Donovan, who is fighting to earn a spot on the A-Team before the qualifiers in the fall.

"This team always moves forward. And if you're not on the train, you've got to find a way to get back on," Donovan told reporters. "That's what I'm hoping to do."

Donovan was recently on a hiatus from football for several months, and he hasn't played for the USA national team since last summer.

"There's a lot at stake," USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann told reporters. "He had his break. He had his reasons for it. And we are thrilled to have him back. But now it's all about your performance. The players know this is an opportunity for every one of them to make a strong case toward Brazil 2014."

The 31-year-old is appreciative of Klinsmann's honesty.

"A lot of times people have relationships where on the surface everyone thinks everything is great but you don't say what you mean and what you feel," Donovan said. "And (Klinsmann) and I have been honest since day one.

"We don't necessarily agree on things, but we're very honest with each other and we know what the other is feeling."

The friendly is an opportunity for USA to tinker with its lineup ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which begins on July 7.
