Due to ongoing riots in the area, tonight's game between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox has been postponed. Tomorrow's game will go on as scheduled but will be closed to the public.

The Orioles announced their decision via press release earlier today that also included schedule changes and makeup dates for Monday and Tuesday's games.

MLB Communications confirmed the news with a statement from commissioner Rob Manfred.

"After conversations with the Orioles and local officials, we believe that these decisions are in the best interests of fan safety and the deployment of City resources," Manfred said. "Our thoughts are with all those who have been affected by violence in Baltimore, and everyone in our game hopes for peace and the safety of a great American city."

The Orioles made the decisions for Tuesday's game after consulting with officials about the ongoing civil unrest in Baltimore.

Manfred said the league was taking active steps to solve the postponement issues.

"At this point we're looking at every possibly alternative in terms of completing the schedule in a timely way and making sure the games are playing in a security situation that is safe for the fans," he said via ESPN. We're going to look at every alternative at this point."
