Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore demonstrated his programming skills as he posted a source code he created to solve sudoku puzzles on his Facebook page.
The Prime Minister said that he wrote the "pretty basic" computer program a few years ago using C++ programming language - which was widely used in the 1980s. He then asked readers to tell him "if they found any bugs."
Associate Professor Ng Wee Keong, an associate chair of research at Nanyang Technological University's school of computer engineering, said that the code is "well structured" and that it will be good if it comes with comments.
"Comments are essential when the code is huge and complex. The written source code compiled fine and seems to run correctly," Ng said in a report from The Straits Times Singapore.
Meanwhile, Aaron Tang, a senior lecturer from the school of computing at the National University of Singapore said that it was "well written," and that "it shows the programmer's mastery of logic and design methodology."
Both experts also state that the source code is in C, and not C++, as PM Lee had said.
Singapore currently has one of the highest levels of computer ownership in the world, and the government intends to try out new technology innovations on the island. PM Lee said that it was imperative Singapore stayed ahead of the game when it came to technology and programming, according to BBC.
