The woman accused of taking her fiancé's life on a kayak trip on the Hudson River is due to be arraigned in court on Friday.

Angelika Graswald, 35, was indicted earlier this week and is facing charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter, according to ABC News.

Vincent Viafore's body was pulled out of the Hudson River last weekend. The 46-year-old went missing since the couple went on a kayaking trip in April.

Graswald apparently sabotaged Viafore's kayak by tampering with his kayak drain plug and then pushed a floating paddle away from him as he struggled in the water. Graswald then allegedly waited for 20 minutes before calling 911 for help.

State troopers discovered Viafore's body floating in the water in the same area where he vanished more than a month ago while kayaking with Graswald.

Police officials had been looking for Viafore since he went missing during the kayak trip on April 19, after emergency services received a call saying that Viafore's kayak had capsized in the Hudson River. Viafore's body was found nearly 20 miles from where his kayak capsized.

At first, Graswald told reporters that her fiancé had died in a horrible accident. However, investigators said that Graswald had confessed to sabotaging Viafore's kayak and allegedly stated that she "wanted him dead." Graswald stood to gain $250,000 in life insurance money from Viafore's death, according to prosecutors, WABC-TV reported.

Graswald's counsel claims that Viafore's death was an accident, saying that he's skeptical of the prosecution's claims that Graswald confessed to the crime.
