Ikea Shopper Finds Jesus In Restroom

While shopping at an Ikea store in Glasgow, Scotland, Dave Simons, 33, found something that wasn't on his list. As he made his way to the store's restroom, he discovered that staring right back at him from the door was the image of Jesus Christ's face.

"I spotted Jesus, reminding me to do up my fly before I exited the toilet," said Simons, as he recounted what he witnessed, according to Yahoo UK.

He said that he was in Ikea looking for tiebacks for curtains, and had been walking around the store for a while. He was going to leave and get hot dogs, since he couldn't find the item from his shopping list, but decided to make a quick stop at the store's restroom first.

"I went in to the toilet, and there it was on the main door when I put my hand out," said Simons. "I said, 'Oh my word, it's Jesus!'"

"I tried to subtly snap a photo because the last thing you want to do is to be heard taking a photo in a toilet," he added.

While Simons swears the image looked like Jesus, with the eyes and moustache resembling the Holy Man, his friends, however, told him that it "looks more like one of the tree people from 'Lord of the Rings.'"

Simon's discovery joins other unusual Jesus sightings like the time a couple saw Jesus' image on a Walmart receipt, as reported by the New York Daily News, and in March during a landslide in Colombia, according to El Tiempo.

Even the image of Jesus' mother, the Virgin Mary, was spotted—once on a piece of toasted bread. The item sold for $28,000 on eBay, according to the BBC.
