Lemonade Stand Run By Young Girls In Texas Shut Down By Police

A hard lesson in entrepreneurship has been imposed on two young girls from Texas, as their first business venture was closed down by police because they do not have the proper permits.

The lemonade stand of sisters Andria Green, 8, and Zoey Green, 7, only lasted for an hour as police successfully shut them down and they were unable to earn their target income of $105, according to Examiner.com

The Greens were selling lemonade for 50 cents and kettle corn for $1 in order to have enough cash to buy a Father's Day gift and take a trip to Texas waterpark Splash Kingdom.

The police instructed the girls to get a permit from city hall, which also requires a health permit because lemonade grows bacteria over time, while the kettle corn is acceptable, Overton Police Chief Clyde Carter told Yahoo! Parenting.

The police officer added that a illegal business fine of about $150 was waived and the young entrepreneurs need not pay.

The siblings found a way to earn from their small venture by giving away lemonade and taking donations, according to the Independent UK.
