Roger Federer faces Philipp Kohlschreiber on Tuesday in the second round of the 2013 Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. The match starts at 8:30 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE.
World No. 5 Federer is looking for a second title before the U.S. Open begins later this month. He's played well, posting a 30-10 record, but he's seemed to fall into a rut after a hot start to the season - Federer has lost in the opening round in four of his last five tournaments, TennGrand.com reports.
"Usually I play well before slams and I'm happy here," Federer said, via TennGrand.com. "I always feel very welcome. It's a nice tournament. The fans love it here. They flock in from many cities around Cincinnati and you really feel they are here for the tennis, which is fun for us players."
Federer will need to get past World No. 26 Kohlschreiber for a shot at the Cincinnati title. The German is 22-17 this season and without a title. He made it to the fourth round in the 2013 French Open, a career best, and he made it once to the quarterfinals in the 2012 Wimbledon Championships.
The two have met head-to-head six times, with Federer winning every match. They last played at the 2011 Monte-Carlo, where Federer took Kohlschreiber in two sets (6-2, 6-1). Their only meeting on a hard court came in 2009 at Doha - Federer won 6-2, 7-6 (6).
