This sweet baby koala won't stop comforting his mom in the hospital until she gets better!
Phantom the six-month-old koala and his mom, Lizzy, were brought to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital after being hit by a car west of Brisbane.
Lizzy was treated for facial trauma and a collapsed lung, according to an announcement on the zoo's Facebook page. Throughout her time at the hospital, she was given lots of antibiotics by her doctors and hugs by her son.
Phantom was uninjured, but he is too young to leave her side. Baby koalas stay in their mother's pouch for the first six months of their life and then cling on to their mother's back until they reach about one year, according to the National Geographic.
Lizzy's doctors said on the Facebook page that she is making a great recovery and will get the second chance at life she truly deserves!
