‘Married At First Sight’ Newlyweds Split After Six Weeks

An arranged marriage isn't for everyone.

"Married at First Sight" couple Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio chose to end their marriage after only six weeks together in the season two finale. Kullar and Varricchio showed instant chemistry at the alter but shared the least emotional and physical intimacy during the honeymoon period.

"I don't think the real Sean, the genuine Sean ever really showed up. I can't say that I really know who I was married to," the 34-year-old Kullar told the New York Post. "I didn't have a connection at all with him."

Varricchio described his relationship with the biopharmaceutical sales rep as "tense" and felt like he was "constantly walking on eggshells." The 35-year-old trauma nurse added, "It definitely became difficult to see how we could grow a relationship."

The couple moved into an apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, but Varricchio split his time back in New Jersey where he worked. He believes Kullar didn't make enough of an effort to spend time with him.

"I'm willing to compromise on so many things as long as someone's willing to compromise a little bit with me and I didn't feel that at times," Varricchio said. "She came to Jersey a total of three or four times. She didn't appear to be all the comfortable being here, but I wasn't all that comfortable in Manhattan."

Kullar thought the professional matchmakers missed the mark a little. The experts base their decision on personality profiles and interviews before arranging the blind marriages.

"I don't think that the boxes were checked, I don't think that necessarily the right person was matched," Kullar said.

Her ex-husband commended the matchmakers, but argued that compatibility isn't the same as love.

"I think the experts, they gave it their all to match me with someone who was compatible with me, but love is not an exact science, neither is dating, matchmaking or anything of that nature," Varricchio said.

The couple remained friendly, but that all changed when Varricchio called her "egocentric" in their exit interviews for the finale. He now describes their relationship as "pretty non-existent."

They will both return for the six-month reunion special that will air on June 16 and 23 at 9 p.m. on A&E.
