An Alaskan Coast Guard air rescue team saved the lives of four men after their fishing boat sank, leaving them with no option but to jump into the choppy ocean waters in a dramatic rescue operation, reported ABC News.
All 4 crew members of the 73-foot fishing boat named Kupreanof are safe following the rescue operation that took place on Wednesday morning in Cross Sound, approximately 60 miles west of Juneau.
Amidst the extreme conditions of Alaska's weather, Kupreanof's crew realized that the boat was taking on water, causing the ship's captain to issue a distress call. An Alaskan Coast Guard helicopter rescue team arrived just in time as the boat started sinking with the four men still on board, according to CBS News.
