Diner En Blanc 2015: More than 13,000 Join Paris Dinner in White

The 27th Annual Diner en Blanc (dinner in white) in Paris, where guests attend wearing entirely white, was attended by more than 13,000 people, AFP reported.

Diners brought picnic baskets, white tables and chairs to join the pop-up picnic in public areas of the Tuileries Garden and the Palais Royal, which was announced last-minute before the event started.

The event became an international phenomenon held in other countries from Europe to Asia. Last year, there were around 40 Diner en Blanc events around the world.

The Dîner en Blanc website describes the event where "thousands of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass 'chic picnic' in a public space."

After the event, the attendees are required to return the venue to its original state by collecting and removing their trash.

The tradition began 26 years ago in Paris in which organizers invite guests to wear all white to easily spot them in the park.
