Kendrick Lamar 'Control': Diss Track Ignites Passion in Rapper Ice T, 'One Verse Woke Hip Hop the F**K Up'; Diddy Mocks Artist On Instagram (SEE LYRICS)

Kendrick Lamar's diss verse on the Big Sean's track "Control" called out multiple rappers, but many hip hop lovers praise the artist for igniting passions in the community.

Lamar put out a critically acclaimed album "good kid, mAAD city" last year, one of the most talked about records of all time. Since his rise in popularity, hip hop artists have acknowledged Lamar as one of the best rappers of all time.

The "Swimming Pools" rapper felt there was a lack of competition in the industry and took to music to express how he felt.

Below is Lamar's verse on "Control":

I heard the barbershops be in great debates all the time

Bout who's the best MC? Kendrick, Jigga and Nas

Eminem, Andre 3000, the rest of y'all

New ni***s just new ni***s, don't get involved

I'm usually homeboys with the same ni***s I'm rhymin' wit

But this is hip hop and them ni***s should know what time it is

And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale

Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake

Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller

I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you ni***s

Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you ni***s

They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you ni***s

What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high

Who tryna jump and get it? You better off tryna skydive

Out the exit window of 5 G5's with 5 grand

With your granddad as the pilot he drunk as f**k tryna land

With the hand full of arthritis and popping prosthetic leg

Bumpin Pac in the cockpit so the s**t that pops in his head

Is an option of violence, someone heard the stewardess said

That your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread

The verse went viral, rappers like Ice-T and Diddy took to social media to express how they felt about Lamar.

ICE T tweeted on Tuseday: "I love how ONE verse woke Hip Hop the F--- up. It's been a LONG time since people talked about ANYTHING someone said in their rhyme." The rapper continued in later tweets, "I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of replies and diss tracks. Don't trip. It's just Hip Hop. ... Hey, Hip Hop stripes are born in battle. Me and LL (Cool J) did our thing back in the day. It's part of the game."

Diddy posted the following meme mocking Lamar's statement proclaiming he is the official "King of New York":

Do you think people are overreacting to Lamar's verse? Is he worthy of the title "King of New York"?
