An ice cream truck driver in Maryland was gunned down while selling treats to children. The suspected shooter was arrested, reported the Associated Press.
Big Daddy Ice Cream driver Brandon Brown, 22, was fatally shot Saturday afternoon at Lucas Village, a subsidized housing complex in Fredrick, Md.
Brown drove into the community, playing music to announce his arrival. Children lined up to buy ice cream. Then, Brown stepped out of the truck when a man approached and shot him directly in the chest. He died at the scene.
Lt. Clark Pennington said that the witnesses of the incident helped police identify the suspect, 27-year-old Larnell Lyles. He was arrested on Sunday and charged with first degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, reported Reuters.
Lyles' phone number was unlisted, and online court records didn't list an attorney for him.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and have not revealed a potential motive for the crime.
