George Kirby, 103, and Doreen Luckie, 91, had been together for 27 years and finally got married, bearing the title as the world's oldest couple to wed.
The wedding took place at a hotel in the seaside town of Eastbourne, southern England, witnessed by 50 close friends and family, as well as a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records.
The couple has a combined age of 194 years, beating the record of a French couple, Francois Fernandez and Madeleine Francineau, who had a combined age of 191 years.
"It's about time, really. Doreen keeps me young and I can definitely say we're going to spend the rest of our lives together," Kirby said, according to The Independent.
Luckie added: "I wasn't a blushing bride, but I was a bit giddy. It was such a lovely day - and great to see everybody."
The bride wore a floral white and blue dress while the groom, dressed in a suit and tie, arrived in a wheelchair due to a recent fall.
Prior to the ceremony, Luckie said that they had "no regrets" about not doing it earlier. "We didn't want to bother about marriage before, but eventually we did it," she said.
The couple already have seven children, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren between them.
The two got engaged on Valentine's Day of this year, according to the Daily Mail. Kirby even said, "I didn't get down on one knee, because I don't think I would have been able to get back up."
