‘Real World’s’ Diem Brown Remembered on 35th Birthday By Her Friends and MTV Costars

Gone, but not forgotten!

On the day that would have been Diem Brown's 35th birthday (June 12), friends took some time to remember the former reality star, who passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Alicia Quarles, who is considered one of Brown's dearest friends, paid tribute to the late reality star in several Instagram posts over the weekend.

The E! News correspondent posted a photo of her and Brown that read, "Happy birthday my beautiful, beloved @DiemBrown. You were one of my bridesmaids when I recited these words as my wedding vows. Now I dedicate them to you, my sister, soulmate, best friend, and true love."

She followed her post with the lines of E.E. Cummings' poem "I Carry Your Heart."

Quarles included a second photo of herself getting a tattoo in honor of Brown, with the caption, "This tattoo by @bangbangnyc @georgiagreynyc is dedicated to @diembrown, Every time she went thru that hell called chemo, the curls on the left and right sides of her head were the only/last pieces that would fall out. We always thought it was a sign from her mom who called those little curls Diem's angel wings, when D was a baby. Now I have my wings. Always and forever. #FCancer."

Brown's sister Megan shared a collage which included an adorable childhood photo of Brown alongside an older photo of the outspoken activist celebrating her birthday.

"Any other morning on June 12th for as long as I can remember I started it with a phone call," she wrote on Instagram Friday. "A tradition our family has to never let our birthdays go by without being sung the birthday song ... the whole song, full out, every word. Nine times out of 10 I'd get your voicemail and leave an obnoxious rendition, similar to the one I would receive from you on my birthday. I yearn so badly to make that call."

MTV alum Paula Beckert wrote via Instagram, "I know she is in heaven, watching over us, bringing her spirit to us when we need it most, and just making sure we are doing ok. Well Diem, we are ok, but dammit life was just a lot more fun with you here. Your legacy lives on thru #medgift and the millions of moments you have blessed us with. For everyone with a dented heart, please find peace and love today on Diem's birthday. Share your pictures and stories. Hug your people extra tight. And light a candle, sing happy birthday and make a wish for our dancing angel. Forever loved, always remembered #diemstrong."

Several of Brown's friends also took to social media paid tribute to their late friend.
