Sony announced during the E3 2015 press conference that it will unbundle its Vue streaming channels and offer the stations a le carte, Tech Crunch reported.
With this, Sony becomes the first provider to offer some TV stations to the American consumer without bundles - subscribers will be able to choose the stations they want.
This program will allow users to opt out of expensive programming tiers by letting them choose individual channels, Engadget reported.
Sony Computer Entertainment President and Global CEO Andrew House described PlayStation Vue as "a complete live TV experience." He said that it is "designed for the gamer, making it simpler and easier to find the television they want."
Initially, in its launch next month, the selection will limited to a few stations, including Machinima, Showtime and Fox Soccer Channel. Some stations like CBS, Fox and Comedy Central will soon be available.
The service will be available in July, but it was scheduled to be rolled out in San Francisco and Los Angeles Monday night.
Sony currently sells different tiers of PlayStation Vue programming starting at $49.99, according to The Verge.
