The Forum restaurant in Boston is reopening after repairing damages caused by the second pressure cooker bomb that exploded during the Boston Marathon in April, Bloomberg News reported.
The restaurant will host a charity event on Thursday with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, a children's cancer organization, and reopen to the public officially on Friday. They are the final business on Boylston Street to reopen after the bombings in April.
In a statement on their website, Forum expressed their excitement to finally serve their patrons again.
"We are very proud to announce that after four long months of reconstruction since the Boston Marathon attack, Forum Bar & Restaurant will host a reopening celebration on Thursday, August 15th with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, supporters in attendance during the Marathon, to finish what we started during that April morning."
The statement also mentions they will be debuting a new chef, menu, and decor and "are stronger than ever," and close with thanking the public for their support.
"We are eternally thankful to the city of Boston for the overwhelming outpour of support, words of encouragement, loving messages, and all of those who stood by us as we tackled this very complex and traumatic part of our lives. We would like to invite all of you to join us at the NEW Forum. We love you Boston."
Bloomberg notes that employees at the restaurant were recognized by the city for assisting countless victims of the marathon bombings. The second bomb detonated at the finish line, killing 3 and injuring more than 260 people, was located right outside of Forum.
Forum owner Euz Azevedo says he hopes that the new changes are enough to make people forget about the traumatic event that took place just four months ago.
Chris Loper, Forum's general manager, said there will be some patrons who visit out of pure curiousity and only good food and service will keep them coming back for more.
