Police in the United Kingdom have confirmed that one of the members of a family that went missing in the Middle East last week has finally made contact.
Authorities said on Wednesday that the three sisters and their nine children, aged 3 to 15, may have entered Syria and have joined their brother, who is currently fighting with Islamic militants.
The family had previously traveled to Saudi Arabia from Bradford in England. They have ceased contact since June 9 and were unable to come home on June 11 as expected, according to CNN.
Meanwhile, Akhtar Iqbal and Mohammed Shoaib, the husbands of two of the three sisters, Khadija Dawood, Sugra Dawood and Zohra Dawood, have pleaded for their wives to come back in order for them to be able to return to their "normal lives," Sky News reported.
"I miss you, and love you. I cannot live without you. Please, please call me so I know you are safe, especially my three-year-old son Ismaeel," Iqbal said.
"Please contact me whenever you want. Please come back," Shoaib said to his wife Khadija, after both husbands made a televised appeal on Tuesday.
