In case you're unable to decipher obviousness, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will pit Batman and Superman against one another. In a fight. With their fists.
Similar to the duo's brawl in the comic "The Dark Knight Returns," Ben Affleck's Batman will rock a mechanized Batsuit to be able to throw down with the last son of Kypton. However, this fight may not go down quite as fans may expect. Superman actor Henry Cavill told WWD that Superman is going to try to avoid engaging in fisticuffs with the Caped Crusader.
"Superman wouldn't get into a cage fight with just anyone," Cavill said. "Imagine, you wouldn't get into a fight with someone if they hit you and you didn't feel it, barely registered it. Superman wouldn't even notice; he's not quick to engage."
I think Cavill has some unique standards for what it takes to incite a brawl.
Regardless, Batman isn't your average drunk guy at a bar causing trouble. He's mastered most known forms of hand-to-hand combat, has a bunch of cool bat gadgets (including, you know, the robotic war suit) and is even rumored to be wielding a Kryptonite spear against Kal-El. At this point in the DC Cinematic Universe, we're pretty sure that Superman is not aware of the existence of Kryptonite. But who better to figure out the Man of Steel's weakness than the greatest detective on Earth?
We know that some powerful common enemy will force Batman and Superman to put aside their differences for the greater good. But before that happens, they're going to trade blows in what promises to be one hell of an action sequence. Fortunately, this rivalry will not extend too far as the duo will go on to lay the ground work for "Justice League: Part One" in 2017.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
