Aaron Paul will be starring in his first major series since "Breaking Bad."
Hulu announced on Wednesday that the actor has landed the lead male role in its newest original series "The Way," according to Variety. He will also serve as the producer of the show.
Paul will be playing a very different role than his previous role as Jesse Pinkman in the hit series "Breaking Bad." His character Eddie Cleary is a convert to the movement with a wayward past. As a father and husband suffering from crisis of faith, he has to come to accept all the truth in his life, which is fundamentally challenged.
"True Detective" actress Michelle Monaghan will be the leading female role alongside Paul as his wife.
It has been signed for 10 episodes, and the creator of the show is "Parenthood's" Jessica Goldberg, according to TVLine.
"The Way" is a faith-based drama focusing on the Clearly family and examining them as they become the center of controversy in the movement, according to The Daily Dot. Each episode will go in-depth about their everyday struggle with relationships, marriage and the choices they have to make between living the life they have to live and the life they want to live.
This is most likely what Paul was talking about when he recently tweeted, "Can't wait to tell you what this is all about. It's top secret for now but you all will know soon."
The tweet included a link to an Instagram photo of a plate that said "congratulations."
The photo's caption read, "Can't wait to tell you guys what this is all about. It's top secret for now but you will all know soon enough. It's a new gig that I am over the moon about. Thank you angel for sending this to me from across the country. Love you lots and lots."
There has not been a set release date for "The Way," but it is slated to begin sometime in early 2016.
