Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad"
"Suicide Squad" director David Ayer recently assured fans that many of the film's surprises were still to come, despite several leaked videos and images that were quite revealing to say the least. Fans now know that Batman will be present and potentially doing some heavy lifting. But moviegoers may also get a glimpse at another member of the Justice League.
According to Umberto Gonzalez of Heroic Hollywood, Jason Momoa's Aquaman will also be included in "Suicide Squad," though not how you might imagine. It recently came to light that Aquaman and another member of the Justice League may cameo in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Aquaman's role was said to be that of a prisoner and it sounds like not much has changed by the time "Suicide Squad" rolls around.
"Aquaman is being held prisoner by Amanda Waller and is being studied and tested on," Gonzalez wrote of Momoa's role in "Suicide Squad." "...He was captured after he fought a mutated shark who is being held in the same prison as he is."
The mutant shark is rumored to be King Shark, a famous DC villain with a long and twisted backstory.
This would also confirm previous rumors that Aquaman's trident is in Waller's possession as well. However, it dispels the belief among fans that Lex Luthor is the one holding Aquaman against his will. Whether or not Luthor and Waller have any connection in the DC Cinematic Universe remains to be seen.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters in March of 2016 with "Suicide Squad" following that summer.
