Audrey Hepburn was known for rocking a little black dress, and it's amazing she was able to keep such a good figure considering her love for chocolate and pasta.
The "Breakfast at Tiffany's" star was a mom who loved to indulge, and her younger son, Luca Dotti, who is now 45-years-old, has exclusively opened up to PEOPLE about some of his mothers favorites.
"She was crazy about pasta," he revealed. "She would eat it almost every day. Her absolute favorite was spaghetti with tomato sauce. She could live on that alone."
Dotti recently wrote a new book called "Audrey at Home," which he describes as a "kitchen biography." The book features all of her recipes, including many pasta dishes and chocolate cake, plus over 250 personal photos of the star and some of his favorite memories.
It may come as a shock to most that she ate pasta almost every day considering her iconic slender figure, but she was just one of the lucky ones.
"My mother was very good at listening to her body," he continued. "She was lucky with her physique but she had normal plates of pasta. Mum had a serious pasta addiction. She couldn't do without pasta."
Dotti admitted that although she loved to indulge, she was very strict about keeping snacks in the house and making sure the family ate right for each meal. She also took part in detoxes once a month.
One thing she always made sure to enjoy, though, was her favorite treat: squares of dark chocolate.
"She ate it every day," he said. "A bite or sometimes more. She had a special drawer in the house where she would put her chocolate and it was forbidden to touch. She would get upset if someone finished it before her. Chocolate was her favorite pick-me-up."
"Audrey at Home" was released earlier this week, and now you can enjoy some of the iconic stars favorite recipes and read all about her children's favorite memories. You can purchase the book here.
