Lady Gaga was the star of the show at the opening ceremony of the Baku 2015 European Games on Friday, June 12, according to Billboard.com.
The 29-year-old singer from New York City could not wait to post her proud career accomplishment on her Twitter account after the thrilling experience – especially of a track from a legend in the music industry.
“What an honor to have a few moments with the world watching,” Gaga said in a post on her Twitter account. “Could you imagine. What would you say?”
President Illham Aliyev properly started things off with a grand entrance into the Heydar Aliyev Arena in Azerbaijan, the Associated Press reported.
Aliyev’s wife Mehriban, who is also the person behind the country’s first event of its kind, enjoys it for its meaning.
"This spectacular celebration is the victory of independent Azerbaijan and each Azerbaijani citizen," Mehriban said. "Dear athletes, these games are for you."
The games will go on until June 28, according to NME.com.
While Lady Gaga is humbled by the exhilarating experience, she sees it as an understatement compared to what else she has accomplished and plans to conquer.
"I feel that I have a lot of work to do, as personally, I feel extremely unaccomplished as a songwriter," Gaga said during her Songwriters Hall of Fame 46th Annual Induction and Awards Gala Contemporary Icon Award speech on Thursday, PEOPLE reported. "As my heroes have done some things that I can only dream of, I feel very in my infancy as a writer, and I think you for just ... at this point in my career, I've had some ups, I've had some downs, I've had some in-betweens – that you've chosen to honor me for the only thing I know I have, which is my heartbeat, which is that I write songs."
