Microsoft said that it will include Skype voiceover-IP service in its Windows 8.1 update right from the 'Start'.
Microsoft, the world's most valuable and the largest software developer, announced Thursday that the Windows 8.1 update will integrate Skype, the voiceover-IP service, when it is released .
It won't just carry Skype or the Internet Explorer, the software giant promises a wide range of new and improved apps and services to be included in the Windows 8.1.
"We believe that connecting and sharing should be a seamless part of every Windows experience," Ryan Gavin, general manager, Microsoft Apps & Services, wrote in the company's blog post, emphasizing on the subject of connecting and sharing. "Over 300 million people today use Skype for the most personal connections in their lives, sharing those everyday moments big and small across messaging, audio and video calling. With Windows 8.1, Skype is included right from (the) Start, making your new Windows device the best way to stay close and connected."
Microsoft will launch the first update for its newest Windows 8 operating system October 18. Users of Windows 8 are curious to get their hands on the much-talked about update, which will include a full package of apps and services.
Some of the services that will be included in the Windows 8.1 update are Bing, Skype, Internet Explorer, SkyDrive, Outlook.com, Xbox Music, Video and Games.
In July, Skype celebrated 100 million Android installs and launched a redesigned version of the app. There are more than 300 million people who use Skype from different platforms to connect with their loved ones. Hence, including Skype "right from (the) Start" makes the Windows device the best way to stay close and connected with family and friends, according to Microsoft.
