"Breaking Bad" shut down the lab two years ago but fans are still in need of a fix. That's why anyone who enjoyed the original has been clamoring for some cameos in the spinoff series "Better Call Saul," which debuted earlier this year. For those that are truly jonesing for another look at Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, you may be in luck.
Talking with the NY Daily News, showrunner Vince Gilligan teased a future appearance from Mr. White, basically saying the opportunity is too tempting to pass up.
"It would be great to see Walter White on 'Better Call Saul.' It would be a shame if the show had its run - hopefully a very long run - and he never appeared."
Walter White may not have been the nicest of guys, but Bryan Cranston's Emmy-winning performances throughout the show's five seasons endeared him to viewing audiences all over the world. Seeing these actors return to career-making roles would be great fan service. Of course, Gilligan would have to conjure up some organic ways for these characters to return and not just shoehorn them into a storyline for the sake of nostalgia. That's why he's in no rush to bring them back just yet.
"All of the wonderful characters who may eventually appear on 'Better Call Saul' will appear when it is most organic and fitting to the storytelling of 'Better Call Saul' and also when we can work out scheduling issues with actors."
"Better Call Saul" season two will premiere on AMC in 2016.
