Mega pop superstar Taylor Swift recently took to Tumblr to criticize Apple's new streaming service Apple Music for it's policy not give compensation to artists during a customer's three-month trial period.
Hours later, Swift successfully made the gigantic tech company change it's tune, with Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue announcing on Sunday night via his Twitter page that it will pay royalties to artists, record labels and producers.
"When I woke up this morning and I saw Taylor's note that she had written, it really solidified that we needed to make a change," Cue said in an interview with The Associated Press.
Apple's decision comes after the singer-songwriter wrote in a blog post on Tumblr that she will withhold the streaming of her fifth studio album "1989," stating that she found Apple's actions "shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company."
"We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation," the singer wrote at the conclusion of her Tumblr post, which has garnered 65,701 notes.
Apple unveiled it's new streaming service, Apple Music, a few weeks ago. The three-month trial period was seen as an important part of the company's method in gaining potential customers.
An executive from the company recently said that that the proceeds of the songs "are a few percentage points higher than the industry standard, in part to account for the lengthy trial period," unlike other streaming services where they only offer a free trial for a month, CNN Money reported.
