Rapper Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, was placed under arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, among other charges in an incident on the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) campus, reported the LA Times.
Combs was arrested at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex in connection to an apparent assault with a kettlebell, a type of weightlifting equipment with a handle. The hip-hop artist was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery, according to CNN.
Combs was booked at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center at 7:37 p.m. and was later released after posting bail.
The rap mogul was allegedly involved in an altercation with a football coach at the university, where his son, Justin Combs, plays football, according to TMZ.
"I'm thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation," said football head coach Jim Mora. "This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time."
