Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) with Mobile Push, which allows app developers to send up to one million notifications across platforms each month at no extra cost.
Amazon Web Services announced Tuesday, the expansion of Amazon Simple Notification Service with an addition of Mobile Push, a cross-platform notification service in the cloud. The new service is available to all AWS customers, which supports up to one million push notifications each month to iOS, Android and Kindle Fire devices, at no additional cost. App developers have an option to pay an extra dollar to publish and deliver another one million push notifications.
With the growing need to communicate with a large number of user base, mobile push notification service has opened up great opportunities. But managing the service can be expensive and complex. Each mobile service has its own relay networks which delivers messages to the platforms they own. Integrating all these varied services means building a complex system which would naturally drive up the cost.
Amazon SNS holds an answer to eliminate errors and deliver a smooth experience.
"AWS services like DynamoDB and now SNS Mobile Push are key building blocks that help us deliver the best experience possible across 600 million mobile devices," Andrew Levy, CEO of Crittercism, a mobile application performance management company, said in a press release. "SNS Mobile Push means our customers can now notify tens of millions of users in a matter of seconds about critical app performance issues."
Amazon SNS helps app developers to send several million notifications to subscribers at once. It is less-expensive and utilizes less time, which can be helpful in managing other tasks. Amazon SNS is available in all AWS regions.
