Apple iPhone 5S Release Date, Rumors: New iPhone 5S Will Also Come in 'Champagne Gold' Color

Multiple sources or rumors and leaked components suggest that the upcoming iPhone 5S will also come in a "champagne" or probably "gold" color option. If this latest rumor is true, then fans will have another option other than the current white and black available.

Technology news website TechCrunch reported on Sunday that Apple plans to introduce the gold-cased or champagne-colored case iPhone, depending on how the light reflects on it, on its September event. The color may resemble the color of the previously released gold iPod mini.

Macbouctic published some leaked photos of the gold iPhone on Friday as well as some components of it.

So what pushes the iPad maker to go "gold?"

The Telegraph assumes that the gold color can be appealing to the Chinese and Indian smartphone users which may be part of the company's strategy to further dominate the market. However, Rene Ritchie of iMore thinks that it is a part of the company's cost-reduction moves as gold casings are cheaper to produce than black.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his fearless and accurate Apple forecast, has also reported that the iPhone 5S will be available in gold and will have a bigger storage at 128GB.

"We also forecast the new model will add a new look, a golden casing, and a new option for larger 128GB storage, to offer greater differentiation from iPhone 5," said Kuo to Daily Mail.

The gold casing is something else to look forward to aside from the rumored fingerprint sensor which can be used to unlock the homescreen and confirm Apple ID for the App Store purchases.

It seems that Apple enthusiasts and critics have a lot to expect on the upcoming event with this gold or champagne casing, the fingerprint sensor, and the cheaper iPhone 5C which will have a Samsung-like casing.

Apple has not confirmed any of the rumors yet.
