The weirdly bent truck built by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, which is obviously a public artwork, was issued a parking ticket, Sueddeutsche reported.
The surreal vehicle was built for the Center for Art and Media to celebrate the anniversary of the city of Karlsruhe.
The truck’s front wheels were fine, while the rear part is braced vertically against a wall that is, of course, a no-parking area. Thus, it received a 30-euro ticket that apparently is not part of the sculpture.
However, the ticket might not need be debated since city officials conspired to issue the citation for laughs, KA-News reported.
"This was meant by the colleagues from the outset as a joke," said a city spokesperson, as they wanted to see smiles on the face of the people in the 300th anniversary of the city. The clerk's office was also informed about it to avoid confusion.
“We think it’s great if the fine men of this city think for themselves artistically," a spokeswoman from the art center said.
The truck bears a car plate with an explicit reference to Erwin Wurm and the birth year of the artwork in 2011.
