Dustin Diamond: 'Screech' Actor Sentenced To 4 Months For Bar Stabbing

Dustin Diamond, better known for his role as Screech in the '90s TV teen comedy "Saved By The Bell," has been sentenced to four months in jail by a Wisconsin judge, the Associated Press reported.

Judge Paul Malloy, of Ozaukee County Circuit Court in Port Washington, Wis., delivered Diamond's four-month sentence along with 15 months' probation in response to two misdemeanor charges following a bar stabbing last December. Diamond and his fiancee, Amanda Schutz, were also ordered to pay $1,501.27 in restitution to victim Casey Smet, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The former TV actor, 38, was found guilty in May of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident at the Grand Ave Saloon in Port Washington on Christmas evening. An altercation broke out between Diamond and Smet, eventually leading to Diamond pulling out a pocket knife and stabbing Smet in the armpit. Smet's injury was less than a centimeter long, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Diamond told jurors that he accidentally stabbed Smet and was acting in defense of his fiancee, Schutz, AP reported. She was also convicted of disorderly conduct and is facing a 90 day prison sentence.

Video surveillance footage, obtained by TMZ, allegedly shows Diamond on the night of the stabbing, posted below.

Photojournalist Mike De Sisti, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, posted this photo of Diamond during the sentencing on his Twitter page.
