The Philadelphia 76ers selected Duke big man Jahlil Okafor with the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Okafor was perhaps the most dominant player in all of college basketball last season. He averaged 17.3 points, 8.5 rebound and 1.4 blocks in 30 minutes of play en route to a National Championship last season. He is one of the most polished low post scorers in recent memory and projects as a consistent offensive threat at the next level. Although Okafor's defense and rim protection leaves something to be desired, he is arguably the most NBA ready prospect in addition to having one of the highest ceilings of any player in this draft.
This pick creates a bit of a logjam in the front court for the 76ers. Nerlens Noel emerged as a strong defensive force, especially in the latter half of this past season. Joel Embiid, who miss all of last season with a foot injury, recently suffered a setback in his recovery but is still expected to take the court at some point in the 2015-16 season. Finding minutes for all three big men when healthy may prove challenging.
Regardless, Philly has a stockpile of young talent in the front court at the moment.
