Lee Thompson Young, from the hit show "Rizzoli & Isles" has died. According to TMZ, Young's body was found by his landlord early this morning. After the 29-year-old actor didn't show up for work, staff reportedly contacted his landlord and asked him to check on Young.
Sources told TMZ that his body was discovered with a gunshot wound in what police are saying as a possible suicide.
"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," manager Jonathan Baruch told Fox in a statement. "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this very difficult time."
Young got his big break as a star on the Disney show "The Famous Jett Jackson." He also appeared on "Smalleville," "Scrubs," "CSI: NY," "Friday Night Lights" and has starred as detective Barry Frost on "Rizzoli & Isles" since 2010.
This is the second celebrity to die from suicide recently. Reality star Gia Allemand was rushed to the hospital in New Orleans last week after a suicide attempt. The 29-year-old "Bachelor" star was found by her boyfriend NBA player Ryan Anderson, People magazine reports.
According to witnesses who spoke to the magazine, Anderson was told by a 911 operator to immediately begin CPR, which he did.
"He just kept yelling her name. 'Why, Gia? Why' Just sobbing" engineer Mike Simpson told People.
She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was taken off life support two days later.
"Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn" the family statement said. "Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other lifelong friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites."
"Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets," the statement continued.
Fans immediately took to Twitter to express their shock and sadness over Young's death.
