Fast and Furious 7 Rumors: Filming Headed to Colorado; No Longer in Egypt Due to Unrest in Country

The next filming location for “Fast & Furious 7” may have been revealed.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reported Pikes Peak Highway is scheduled to close down for the filming of a Universal Pictures movie.

The movie is reportedly the seventh installment of the “Fast & Furious” franchise. However, no officially information has been released.

"They told me that they are not allowed to release that information," said Krithika Prashant, a city spokeswoman from the Pikes Peak - America's Mountain group. "They are directing all the calls to the Universal filming studio."

If the reports are true, that could mean the next “Fast and Furious” may the Atlantic Ocean (or Pacific Ocean) multiple times.

Here are the locations where filming for the seventh installment is set to take place:

--Los Angeles

--United Arab Emirates (UAE)

--Japan

Filming was reportedly supposed to take place in Egypt but, according to Abu Dhabi-based The National that will no longer happen due to the problems in Egypt.

In addition to shooting the movie in these locations, anyone who is in the aforementioned places at the time of the filming may get a chance to be in the movie.

Emirates247.com reported that a casting call offered this information on the movie:

FF7 Productions in association with One Race Films and Original Film are now in pre-production on the action crime thriller feature film ‘Fast and Furious 7’ and casting calls will be going out in Los Angeles for starring, co-starring, and supporting roles.

The announcement, out of Los Angeles, also said “Extras will be cast near the locations where filming will take place.”

"Fast & Furious 7" is set to hit theaters July 11, 2014.
