NBA 2K14 Features: Top 3 Additions to This Year's Game; Depth of Content Could be Crucial

Now that the current-gen gameplay features for “NBA 2K14” have arrived we can finally analyze how good the game can be (at least on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3),

Out of all the features, which can be viewed here, these are my three favorite:

Six new Signature Skills – I previously mentioned that I wanted to see the expansion of signature skills and here it is. Hopefully these six skills are more specific and even cater some of the bigger stars in the game.

Dribbling advancements – I am looking forward to this, just so there can be a comparison against “NBA Live 14.” If this feature is available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (since these features are for the current-gen systems and “NBA Live 14” will only be on the next gen consoles) it will be interesting to see whose dribbling system is better. EA Sports has heavily touted their new BounceTek system. Therefore, if “NBA 2K” beats them at their own game, that’s not going to bode well for a “NBA Live” comeback.

Depth of Content – 3,000 new animations! On and Off the court?! This could be interesting. This may not mean that a halftime show is coming to the game. However, it does mean “NBA 2K” focused on an area in which they were lacking—presentation. 2K Sports has always showed great focus with the on-the-court play. However, cut scenes and replays usually leave something to be desired. Hopefully with “NBA 2K14” this will change.

“NBA 2K14” will hit stores for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 1. It will debut for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.
