Jimmy Fallon had a minor surgery Friday morning after he injured his hand at his Manhattan apartment, and The "Tonight Show" host is expected to make a full recovery.
The "Tonight Show" had to cancel its Friday taping where Benicio Del Toro, Taylor Kitsch and Penn & Teller were scheduled to appear. "The Tonight Show" also tweeted that they would be in contact with ticket holders to reschedule tickets, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Fallon was seen dining at the Upper East Side eatery Scalinatella Thursday night and left around 9 p.m., according to TMZ. A source told US weekly that the hand injury had nothing to do with his night out on the town.
Fallon and NBC have not released details on what caused the hand injury. The episode on Thursday introduced the new game "Head Shots" between the host and his guest Mark Wahlberg that involved shooting arrows at random objects on top of their heads. He showed no sign of injury after the game.
"The Tonight Show" was already scheduled to go on hiatus next week. The show will air a repeat on Friday night.
Fallon celebrated his first year as the "Tonight Show" host in February.
