DMX has been arrested, again!
The 44-year-old rapper was arrested in New York City Friday night and has been taken into custody, which the New York County Sheriff's Department said was for "several issues outstanding," according to WPIX-TV.
This particular arrest warrant was issued under his birth name, Earl Simmons, for $400,000 worth of back child support by the Erie County Family Court, according to a spokesman for the sheriff's office. This is not Simmons' first time being issued an arrest warrant, though. The rapper, who is a Yonkers native, has also recently been issued another arrest warrant by the city of White Plains for bail jumping, another by his hometown for accusation of being an aggravated unlicensed driver, and a final one by Newark, N.J. for being a suspect in a gas station robbery.
The rapper was supposed to perform at Radio City Music Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, but he was arrested on his way to the performance, law enforcement sources have told TMZ.
Apparently, he had a cup of Hennessy on him when the arrest was made, but the public drinking charges were dismissed by Saturday, the New York Daily News reported.
DMX's reps and management team have declined to make any comments on the arrest.
