Pop star Jessie J underwent surgery for a mysterious illness last week and is still being hospitalized. She posted an update to her fans on Instagram to let everyone know she's not okay, Billboard reports.
The "Bang Bang" singer, 27, announced to fans that she would be having surgery via her Instagram page. The split-screen video shows her pulling up knee-high white socks with her hospital gown and the second laying in a hospital bed, feebly giving the thumbs up.
"I'm going to be offline for a few days and I wanted to show you why I don't often share personal stuff (especially about my health) anymore, I just get on with it secretly," J wrote in the caption, "but I wanted to share with you before someone else might and it gets twisted and exaggerated into something different or worse."
Three days ago, she posted a text photo to Instagram apologizing to her fans in Denmark, Bristol and Belgium for canceling her shows because of her medical condition. Later that day, she shared a photo of her arm with an IV hooked up to it.
"I am not ok... I am in a lot of pain. But I'm working on it with the doctors. We all have our moments and one of mine is now," she wrote to her fans. "Unexpected but I'm here trying my best to not let it win."
The last time J was forced to cancel shows was a few months ago and cited a "sudden illness" as the reason, Entertainment Weekly reports. She also canceled shows in 2012 so she could get some "vocal rest." See her before/after surgery Instagram update posted below.
