Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Launches New Smartphone Application For Travelers

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport launched a new application for smartphones that gives travels all the latest flying information along with exciting deals and discount news.

After receiving quite a large volume of feedback from travels, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport has come up with a free and new application for travelers to download on their smartphone. The application provides information and updates about flights, shops, parking, restaurants and airport services.

The application can be downloaded for free from BlackBerry App World, Google's Android, the iTunes App Store and Play Store.

"The DFW Airport mobile app represents a breakthrough in the way our customers can navigate DFW Airport," said Jeff Fegan, chief executive officer of DFW. "This is the first airport app that notifies DFW travelers about gate changes through a push notification, and it can also help you determine parking availability or find a bite to eat in one easy solution."

The application is the first of its kind. It provides solutions to many customer-related queries including flight information and tracking, parking availability at the airport, location and rates for parking, flight and gate updates along with shopping and restaurant locations.

The application also has a special feature "within five minutes of my gate" and gives the traveler shopping and restaurant locations that are within five minutes from the traveler's boarding gate.

"The DFW Airport mobile app has everything a passenger needs to make a trip through DFW faster and more efficient," said Ken Buchanan, executive vice president for revenue management. "And for those road warriors who need to maximize their time, the "Within five minutes of my gate" feature lets you know about the shops and restaurants that are closest to you.

"We listened to what our customers had to say about the types of functionality they want in an airport-based mobile app, and our beta testers' contributions were invaluable," said Sharon McCloskey, vice president for marketing services at DFW. "With 85% of DFW travelers now using smartphones, features like up-to-date parking availability will not only be innovative but really helpful for customers."
