Identity Crisis? Wild Goat Joins Kangaroo Community In Adelaide

Naomi Will, an Australian real estate agent, shared a photo of a goat and kangaroos on Facebook that has gained a good deal of attention.

The unique sight has garnered more than 15,000 views, The Huffington Post reported.

The horned goat has been living among the community of about 60 kangaroos in a large paddock on Commercial Rd at Seaford Meadows.

"He hangs around this big male kangaroo and the two of them are good mates," Will said, Mashable reported. "I just like the fact they have had such a great friendship over the years, it's a real lesson for humans. Two animals that should not get on but they do. It's a great life lesson."

Will said she was aware of the wild goat's existence for some time and began seeing it about eight years ago. She also believed that the unlikely friendship between the goat and the kangaroos was a lesson for humans too.

"Black and white, that sort of thing. Two completely different animals that in the real world shouldn't get on, but they do, which is a great thing," she said according to The Advertiser.

It is said that the council tried to get the goat many times. But Will said that she and other residents hope that the goat would be left to live out his days among his adopted family.

"I tell you what there would be an outrage if they ever did do anything to him, because it's just so amazing ... he's almost a protected species down here," she said.
